Downshift challenge

For the month of April, I invite you to join me for a downshift—and create a little space for rest, regeneration, and discovery.

Downshift Challenge:

Pick one goal, project, work product, or commitment—and shift it to a lower gear. Don’t cause harm or neglect primary responsibilities. But, beyond that…go for it. For four weeks, let something be easy.

For an example from my life, I will be downshifting my newsletter. For four weeks, I will send a shorter letter that is easier for me to create. This is a major work product and one that I cherish as a creator. But it is demanding in terms of both time and intellectual energy. I know I need breathing room at certain intervals, in order to stay engaged. So, I will downshift this one thing and give myself a chance to explore, have fun, and rest.

If you need help picking a target, here’s a worksheet + a quick pep talk on setting your gearshift.

Each Friday, I share 5 things to consider and a treasure chest of links in my Helping Friendly Newsletter. Subscribe here (it’s free).
