Ties that bind

Ties That Bind

Revel in the warmth of the winter sun. Get to know the moon. Movement and stillness… Movement and stillness… It’s always this moment. Welcome the infinite mystery of one more breath. Out… In… For the only way to understand the world as something other than a tale of loss is to see it as a tale of change - a never ending stream, an inescapable network of mutuality.

This florilegium (a literary “gathering of flowers”) is the cover for my January 12 newsletter, “Ties That Bind.” Here’s who said what, before I arranged the bouquet:

  • Revel in the warmth of the winter sun. Get to know the moon. —Katherine May

  • Movement and stillness. —Roshi Joan Halifax

  • It’s always this moment. Welcome the infinite mystery of one more breath.—Jon Kabat-Zinn

  • Out… In… —adrienne maree brown

  • The only way to understand the world as something other than a tale of loss is to see it as a tale of change. —Daniel Mason

  • A never-ending stream. —Cal Newport

  • An inescapable network of mutuality. —Martin Luther King, Jr.
