A business literature "best of" covering 10 classic reads in 5 minutes each. Session will conclude with a discussion of how to select and benefit from business literature. Think, speed dating with business gurus.

Participants will read and listen to Abraham Lincoln's "Gettysburg Address." Presentation will include philosophical framing, as well as biographical and historical context. Discussion will address Lincoln's legacy and the contemporary relevance of his famous address.

LETTER FROM A BIRMINGHAM JAIL
Participants will read and listen to Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "Letter From a Birmingham Jail." Presentation will include philosophical framing, as well as biographical and historical context. Discussion will address King's legacy and the contemporary relevance of King's famous letter.

THE MORAL PHILOSOPHY OF ADAM SMITH
In The Wealth of Nations, Adam Smith extolled the virtue of specialized labor and assured a self-regulating economy, guided by an "invisible hand." These contributions are well-known and earned Smith the title, "father of capitalism." However, few people have encountered Smith's political theory, in which he speaks to the virtues of a just society and considers the moral dangers of specialization and the invisible hand.
